TGI-AI (c). Have you heard of it? I doubt so because I just made it up. If Moody can create his index, so can Tanya. :)

Here is my hypothesis: if AI is so great, we should see benefits from it. I will post the list of KPIs my TGI-AI © is comprised of, but right now, as of October 1, 2023, I set everything to zero.

They set all computers to Epoch Time, so I am making history and setting up Tanya’s AI Time. The measurement of AI impact for the BENEFIT ( or not) of humanity. It starts at midnight on October 1, 2023, with zero. It can go to the positive scale ( if AI impact is good) or the negative ( if AI impact is not so good). The “goodness” will be measured as accepted by the current North American Ethics standards as taught per the Harvard Business School curriculum.

What would it mean to an average human ( and robot very soon)? If AI is delivering on it’s promises ( I wish Linkedin had an option to filter on #generativeAI tag, those people not just lying, but are plain dangerous because they spread out false information), TGI-AI would ALWAYS be in a black and WOULD always go higher ( from Oct 1, 2023). Aren’t you curious if whatever koolaid your CIO/CTO/etc. fed you so far about how his team is improving efficiency, ROI, decreasing costs, etc is true? I mean, the supply chain will be perfect, the factories will just build themselves, the cancer will be cured, the hunger will not exist, and homelessness will disappear, the water will be clean, and the climate change will cease to exist…

I had a coffee meeting the other day at the coffee shop. It’s a nice place in Reno. Reno is really getting up and coming. Have you heard about 1 BILLION dollars investment, and they even include workers’ housing? I thought, finally, someone was actually PLANNING for that as well. Tanya, you would say, who cares about your coffee? How about if I tell you the person I met is a well-known technologist from Silicon Valley with over 20 companies ( you all have heard of) under his belt ( as a VC), and the topic of our discussion was AI application in the enterprise? I bet all of you are like, what did you talk about? Tell us more! I will credit him for giving me ideas for thinking about TGI-AI :)

The thing is, there are millions of people doing exactly the same thing — thinking about applications of AI to make money, improve lives, benefit humanity, discover new drugs, make sure self-driving cars don’t kill fat British men ( *** read below, please!!!***), make sure your dog is walked by the drone and your house is cleaned by the robomaid. Exciting times. Therefore, if all of the above holds true and AI will deliver on promises, we should all find ourselves in a paradise in about 2–3 years? Why three years? Because the technology cycle is three years, and then you have to refresh it. Whatever is built right now on whatever AI stack will be obsolete. Just ask any IT Purchasing manager if you do not believe my words.

How will I measure it? Simple. October 1st news, economic indicators, weather indicators, financial markets, house prices, etc. The model itself would be built in an assemble fashion. There are no calculations needed for October 1, 2023, as I mentioned above — the value of TGI-AI is ZERO. I am curious to see what it will be in November, December, and so on. The unit measure is 1. A positive number means AI’s impact was positive on the Earth overall, and a negative number means AI was not so nice. If the value is 0 ( at some point of time), it means that the Earth is at the same point as it was on October 1, 2023 ( I am writing this on September 30 on a PST, but some parts of the world are already in TGI-AI era.)

List of Metrics ( not a full list), TGI-AI is comprised. The actual values are benchmarked to NULL, so we ( humanity) can start measuring AI impact.More datasets are included in the calculation, but this is a sample to give you an example of how it is calculated for traceability and transparency.

( Side story on the https://medium.com/@tanyatalks1/ai-use-cases-in-enterprise-why-ai-self-driving-car-will-kill-every-fat-british-man-4d84b4d00be2 theme)

Today, I went to a Truckee Meadows Regional Planning event. ( If we are to build #smartplanet we might as well know how they currently do it.) However, the address they gave me led me to… you won’t believe it… British Car Auto Show. I am glad all those cars are old and analog, and they won’t be self-driving any time soon. It was fun to watch those men polish their toys. Do we really need self-driving cars? Would you love and care for your robot car as much as you would love and care for your 1960s car James Bond might have driven?

Only British Cars
Red British Car
Sand British Car
Green Umbrella Car

I did find the Regional Planning event after I enjoyed the car show. But that’s a separate story.
