Wow, 14 years, huh. It’s been 14 years. I remember how upset I was. We did everything right. We were not supposed to get hit with a BILLION dollars. Revenue Audit — it was one of the projects I was put on as soon as I joined Intel. I always disclose this: I have some weird attraction to the Intel logo. I do not know what they put in it energy-wise, but I always had some strange attachment to it. Like it was so perfect. We were Intel. We were the best of the best, and we were changing the world. How could we do anything wrong?
Think about a company like Intel and it’s revenue. And all the data attached to it - everything. Everything that goes into making money for a global corporation like Intel.
Analysts say the move, which Intel CEO Paul Otellini vigorously contested, may help AMD recoup some of the market share lost to its bigger and nimbler rival over past years, but is not expected to radically transform Intel’s operation.
Do you know why it was “vigorously contested”? There was nothing in the data to indicate any illegal activity. At least not in 2009 data mining efforts. Yeah, they used to call AI “data mining” back then.
